Week in Review

enraged. invigorated. tears of joy. tense moments. new adventures. driving. taxidermy. holiday parties. disappointment. elation. claustrophobic. free. clean. clean. clean. running late. serving time. community involvement. winter. spring. WINTER. rain. posture. exercise. discontent. electric. submission. birds. deer. peppermint milkshake.

Peppermint Milkshakes at Chick-fil-A. Amaaaazing! They are huge too, so be sure to share one with a friend.

This past week was an absolute whirl-wind.  I submitted a scholarship application; began my taxidermy apprenticeship; visited my hot, pregnant friend in the hospital; started exercising regularly; and researched grants to pursue at work (among other things).

This coming week I will be preparing for my 12 day trip up the west coast.  I still need to finalize my plans but here is my intinerary thus far:

Fly to LA; drive to Joshua Tree National Park, Mojave National Preserve, Las Vegas, Death Valley National Park, the coastal highway, San Francisco, Redwood National Park, Portland, Seattle, Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, and Vancouver; Fly back to Atlanta from Seattle.  (And everything in between)

I have a lot of things to get together before my Friday morning flight, but I will be updating this blog throughout the trip with plenty of pictures.

Speaking of pictures, I really want to make this:cupcake!

yummy!

The Telephone Factory Art Show 2008

This show is always a bunch of fun.  Come check out Atlanta artists with a wide variety of design aesthetics.  You can find a one-of-a-kind gift here!  Plus, if you think the art sucks (which it won’t) you can at least find some pleasure in drinking wine while walking through some of the huge lofts where this art show takes place.

My new baby arrived today! Canon Rebel XSi

Here’s a taste of what it can do with a novice photographer behind the lens…

It’s not the photographer…it’s the equipment.

I’m sooooo excited!!!!

Inspiration: Jane Birkin

Jane Birkin is a French actress and singer (born in London) from the 1960s.  I adore her simplistic, no frills style…probably more so because I am generally the EXACT opposite.  If I have five scarves and necklaces laying around whose textures/colors all complement one another…I will wear them all at once.

Last year I had reconstructive surgery on both of my feet.  Since then, wearing shoes has been a minor annoyance in my life.  Because of the scar tissue build-up around the joint at the base of my left big toe, I discovered that wearing heels positions my foot at an angle that is more comfortable than when wearing flats.  Therefore, I have been on the search for cute, not so high, heels.  Jane’s shoes in the picture above are incredible and I knew I had to find them.

And ta-da! I did!  They are really simple shoes so it wasn’t difficult at all…but I am still impressed with my seeking abilities.  Now all I need is to find another unused gift card floating around my house…
